Why Prabhat Jha & Kalyani Jha Built Counselya
For generations, Mithila has been renowned worldwide for intellect, mathematics, philosophy, and creative brilliance. Yet in modern times, an agonizing reality gripped the region: every year, thousands of exceptionally talented young men and women in Darbhanga, Madhubani, and Samastipur completed their higher education only to pack their bags and leave their homeland.
“Every festival season during Chhath Puja, Durga Puja, and Diwali, we saw mothers and fathers across Darbhanga and Madhubani looking at empty doorways with tears in their eyes. Their sons and daughters were trapped in distant corporate cubicles in Bengaluru, Gurugram, and Noida—unable to get leave, unable to come home. We asked ourselves: Why must our youth abandon their aging parents just to earn a decent corporate living?”
— Prabhat Jha & Kalyani Jha, Founders
The Irony of Local Business & Metro Middlemen
While Mithila's youth were forced into migration, a parallel injustice was unfolding right here in Darbhanga and Bihar. Local doctors, coaching institutes, jewelry showrooms, hospitals, retailers, and industrialists needed websites, digital marketing, model video shoots, and business software to survive in a digital era.
Because no registered corporate technology firm existed in Darbhanga, local business owners were forced to hire third-party brokers and agencies in Delhi or Bengaluru. These metro middlemen charged exorbitant fees, provided sluggish support, and delivered generic template designs. And the greatest irony? The developers and marketers doing the actual work inside those Delhi/Bengaluru agencies were often Mithila youth themselves!
Mithila's businesses were losing money to metro middlemen, while Mithila's children were building digital wealth for outside cities thousands of miles away.
The Resolution: A Registered Corporate Powerhouse in Mabbi
Refusing to accept this status quo, Prabhat Jha and Kalyani Jha resolved to break the cycle. They established Counselya Technology Private Limited right at Mabbi, Darbhanga.
Their pledge was two-fold:
For Mithila's Youth
Dignified, high-paying corporate careers in Next.js web architecture, in-house studio model shoots, performance marketing, and enterprise AI—right here at home in Darbhanga, so they can live with their families and celebrate festivals together.
For Regional Businesses
Direct access to world-class digital marketing, in-house model video commercials, Google Maps SEO, and custom software without paying exorbitant metro middlemen margins, backed by permanent local face-to-face support at our Mabbi office.
Our Future Roadmap
Today, Counselya is rapidly scaling. From a state-of-the-art shoot studio producing professional 4K model ad films to an in-house telecalling department and proprietary CRM engineering, Prabhat Jha and Kalyani Jha are building Bihar's first homegrown Global MNC.
The future is clear: Mithila will no longer be an exporter of cheap labor, but an exporter of world-class technology, digital leadership, and creative innovation.
